Herc's MIControl fps® Program
Treatment

TREATMENT: Corrosion and biofouling are a problem in many industries and effective corrosion control programs have been developed. A few of the challenges in treating FP systems are that they are complex, non-circulating systems, and they are normally connected to a potable water supply.

Corrosion Inhibitors: There are anodic & cathodic electrochemical inhibitors, oxygen scavengers, dispersants, and surfactants, which, can be used in various combinations for the identified corrosion mechanism(s).

Biocides: There are two families of biocides, oxidizing and nonoxidizing. Chlorine is a common oxidizer and gluteraldehyde is an example of a nonoxidizing biocide.

Total system contact: Simply draining a sprinkler system and filling it with treated water does not assure contact throughout. Herc's Pipe-Klean® fps process provides complete, uniform treatment, by circulating throughout the system.
